Caf Mercara

Cathedral Road is a busy spot. We've been here at the Chola Sheraton for a while now. It's just a place to get some coffee or a quick bite. Most people come in while they're staying at the hotel or just passing through the area. We don't try to be anything fancy, even if the building looks that way. It's just us doing our thing every day. Sometimes it gets a bit loud when the lunch crowd hits, but that's just how it is. We keep the chairs clean and the coffee hot. You probably see the same faces working behind the counter most mornings. We know how people like their tea or where they usually like to sit. There isn't much to say about why we do it, we just show up and open the doors. If you're near Cathedral Road and need a seat, you'll find us here. It’s quiet enough for a quick meeting or just staring out the window for a bit. We've seen a lot of changes on this street over the years but we're still in the same corner. It’s not a big operation. Just a regular spot inside the hotel where you can get what you need without a lot of fuss. We try to keep things moving so nobody is waiting too long. That’s about it. The morning shift starts early. We get the machines going before the first guests come down. It's a rhythm we've gotten used to.
