Barakath Briyani Centre

You can find us at No 56 in Vyasarpadi, which is a pretty crowded part of Chennai. We are specifically located in A Kalyanapuram, right near the big pillar. If you know the Vyasarpadi area, you know how busy it gets with all the traffic and people moving around. The briyani centre isn't very large, but we make enough to keep the neighborhood fed. We spend a lot of time over the big pots in the back. It gets hot in the kitchen, especially in the Chennai summer, but that’s just part of the job. Most of our customers are locals from around 600039. They come in for a quick lunch or take something home for dinner. We don't have fancy decorations or anything. It's mostly just some benches and the smell of the spices. Sometimes we run out of food earlier than expected if a big group comes by, but we try to plan it right. Working at Barakath Briyani Centre means being on your feet all day. The area near the pillar is always noisy with bikes and buses going past. We’ve been at this spot for a while now. It’s a practical place for a meal. Nothing more, nothing less. We just focus on getting the rice and meat cooked properly every morning. It’s honest work and we’re glad to be part of the Vyasarpadi community here in Chennai. It is just what we do to get by and keep the shop going.
