Bai Biryani

We are located at No 71/26 on J J Khan Road in Royapettah. It is quite close to the church, so there are always people walking around this part of Chennai. Our place, Bai Biryani, is just a simple spot where we focus on getting the food ready on time. The morning starts with the heavy pots and the smell of spices filling up the small space. It gets quite hot in the kitchen, especially during the summer months here. I guess we don't have any of those fancy modern interiors you see in the malls nowadays. It is just some sturdy tables and chairs and a lot of steam from the rice. Customers come in and out all day, some are regulars who live nearby and others are just stopping by because they were at the church or passing through Royapettah. I spend a lot of time cleaning up after the lunch rush because it can get messy when things are busy. The noise from the street never really stops, with the horns and the people talking outside. We just keep serving what we have until the pots are empty. It is a lot of work to keep things going day after day, but this is what we do. No 71/26 is easy to find if you know the area. We just make sure the food is ready and the place is open when people are hungry. Anyway, it’s just a normal business and we stay pretty busy with the daily routine.
