Asli Punjabi Rasoi Restaurant

We are tucked away on the ground floor of Wellington Estate over on Ethiraj Salai. Being in Egmore, we get a lot of different people coming through, from office workers to students. Asli Punjabi Rasoi is basically what it says on the sign. We make Punjabi food right here in Chennai, which can be a bit of a change for some people around here. It’s not a huge place, just a simple setup with tables and chairs where you can get a meal. The kitchen is always going, and you can usually smell the spices before you even walk through the door. We don't have any fancy decorations or a big marketing team. It’s just us serving food in this corner of the building. Sometimes it gets really packed during the lunch hour because of all the offices nearby, so it can be a bit of a squeeze. We try our best to get everyone fed and on their way. It’s a straightforward kind of place. We’ve been at this address for a while now, and most people in Egmore know where Wellington Estate is. We just focus on getting the cooking right and making sure there’s enough for everyone. It’s honest work, and we like being part of the neighborhood here. No big frills, just a regular restaurant doing its thing every day. If the salt is a little much or the tea is too sweet, we just fix it and keep going. That is just how it is with us.
