Asian Bearing Ltd.

Our office is at 14 Peters Road in Royapettah. If you know the area, you know how the traffic can be during the day with all the buses and rickshaws. We’ve been here for years, dealing with all sorts of bearings for machines and cars. It’s a small space for a company with "Ltd" in the name, but we manage just fine with what we have. The shelves are packed with heavy boxes and there’s always a faint smell of oil and metal in the air. We aren't into fancy displays or big advertisements. Most people who come here are looking for a specific part they can't find elsewhere in the city. We spend a lot of time looking through our handwritten lists to check what's actually in the back room. It’s a bit cluttered and the lighting isn't the best, but we know where everything is kept. We have an old computer that we use sometimes, but the ledger is still our main way of keeping track of things. The street outside is always loud with horns and people shouting, but inside we just focus on the work. We take a break for lunch when we can, usually just sitting at our desks with a tiffin. It’s a practical way to run things. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a shiny office. We just want to get the right bearing to the person who needs it.
