Tushar Bhojanalay

Tushar Bhojanalay is located at Kapoor Bhawan in the Varanasi Cantt area. We are very close to the Shivam Hotel and Pared Kothi, which is a place many travelers know well. Being in Subhash Nagar means we see a lot of people coming from the railway station. Most of them are tired and just want a simple meal that doesn't cost too much. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who have been working together for years. The kitchen is right there, and you can see the rotis being made fresh on the tawa. We don't use any complicated machines; it’s all done by hand. The seating is just basic wooden benches and tables, which we wipe down constantly because the dust in Varanasi never stops. We serve mostly thalis because it’s easier for people to get a bit of everything. There’s no music playing or anything like that, just the sound of the city outside and the clinking of spoons against the metal plates. We open early in the morning for those catching the early trains and we stay open until the last batch of rice is gone. It’s not a place for a fancy date, but it’s a good place if you are hungry and want to feel full. We’ve been here for a long time and the neighborhood knows us by now. We just keep serving food.
