Amrapali Restaurant (Clarks Varanasi Hotel)

Our restaurant is located inside the Clarks Varanasi Hotel grounds in the Cantonment area. The address is The Mall, and we’ve been part of this setup for many years. Varanasi is a city that never really stops, but out here in the Cantonment, it feels a little different than the narrow lanes near the river. It’s a bit wider, more trees around. We are just a regular spot where people come to eat. We have our regulars from the neighborhood and then there are the guests staying at the hotel who wander in. The place has a certain look to it, maybe a bit old-fashioned, but we like it that way. It doesn’t feel like those new places that all look the same. We focus on the food and making sure the tables are set properly. The kitchen staff works hard, and you can hear them back there if you listen closely. It’s not a silent place, it has the sound of a working kitchen. We serve what we know best. We don't try to follow all the latest trends you see on the internet. We just stick to the recipes we’ve used for a long time. People seem to appreciate that consistency. The Mall is a nice area to walk around after a meal. We are just glad to be a small part of the daily life in this part of Varanasi and keep things going year after year.
