The mark Cafe

The mark Cafe is right over in Dumrao Bagh, practically a stone's throw from Assi Ghat. If you head towards the Ganga and pass Highfy, you’ll stumble onto us. Varanasi is a loud, busy place, so we tried to make this little corner feel a bit more relaxed. I opened this because I wanted a place to sit that wasn't right in the middle of the street traffic. We get a lot of students and travelers who just want to hang out for an hour or two. The walls have some stuff on them, and the chairs might not all match, but it works for us. It’s mostly about having a spot to grab a drink or a bite while you watch the world go by outside. Being near the river means it gets humid, so we do our best with the fans. We aren't some big chain or anything. It’s just a local cafe where the staff knows most people by name. Sometimes we run out of something on the menu because the market was closed or the delivery was late, but that’s just how things go here. We don't mind if you stay a while. The location near Assi is great because there is always something happening. If you’re walking down from the main road, just look for the sign near the river. We’re usually here from morning until late, just keeping the lights on and the coffee going for whoever walks in.
