Banana Leaf

Lanka is a busy part of Varanasi. We are right across from Sankat Mochan Temple in Ramapuri Colony. Most people know this area because of the temple and the university being close by. We opened up here to serve people who are visiting or living around this side of the city. It’s a pretty simple setup. We use banana leaves for serving most of the stuff because that’s how it’s done where we come from. The kitchen stays busy from morning till late evening. You can see the rickshaws passing by all day and the crowds going to the temple. It gets loud and dusty sometimes on the main road but inside it’s okay. We don’t have fancy chairs or anything, just basic tables where you can sit and eat. Most of our regulars are students from BHU or families coming back from their prayers. We’ve been at this B36/4M26 spot for some time now. Some days it’s crowded and you might have to wait a bit for a seat. We try to keep things clean and moving fast. It’s not a big place, just a local spot for a meal. We use fresh ingredients every morning from the local market nearby. If you are walking down from the temple side, we are easy to find. Nothing too special, just honest food and a place to sit for a while before heading back into the city traffic. It's just a small shop where we do our best every day to keep things going for our customers.
