Tandoor Villa

We've been at S-17/317 in Nadesar for a long time now. Most people find us easily enough because we are right near the Badi Masjid. It’s just a regular spot where we keep the tandoor running for most of the day. Tandoor Villa isn't anything fancy, just a place in Varanasi where we get on with the daily cooking. Sometimes the street out front gets a bit crowded with traffic, but that's just how it goes around here. We spend a lot of our time in the back kitchen making sure things are ready for whoever walks through the door. It gets pretty hot back there, especially in those summer months, but we're used to it by now. People from around the neighborhood drop by often, and we know many of them just by their faces. We don't really do much advertising or anything like that. We just stay open and keep the food coming out. The tables are simple wood and we try to keep things clean as much as possible. It's a busy corner of Nadesar. If you're walking past the mosque, you will probably smell what we're roasting in the oven. We keep our menu pretty straightforward. There is no need for complicated stuff when the basics work fine for us. We've got our routine down. Every morning starts with the prep work, and we stay late until the last person leaves. It's hard work, but it keeps us going. Just a local place.
