Shyamal open restaurant

Shyamal open restaurant is located on Assi Road in Varanasi. We are quite close to the Bank of Baroda. Being in ASSI means we are near the ghats, so there's always a certain energy around. The 'open' part of our name is because we like the air and the view. It’s not a closed-off, air-conditioned box. We’ve been here serving the 221005 area for a while. You get a lot of students, travelers, and locals coming through. The vibe is pretty relaxed. We don't rush people out once they finish eating. It’s a place where you can just sit for a bit. Our menu isn't huge, but we make sure the things we do have are made well. The kitchen is right there, so you can hear the sounds of cooking. We don't have any corporate training or fancy uniforms. We just wear what’s comfortable and get the job done. Sometimes the service takes a minute because we’re chatting with a regular, but that's just how it goes here. Varanasi is a place that takes its time, and we do too. We don't do much in the way of promotion. People usually find us when they’re walking towards the river. It’s just a simple, open-air spot to get some food and watch the street go by. We try to keep the tables clean and the tea hot. That's really the extent of our plan for the day. It's a nice way to live, honestly.
