Palki Restaurant

We opened up Palki Restaurant here in Ram Nagar quite a few years back. If you know the area, we are situated right near the railway crossing. You can hear the trains passing by all day long, which is just part of the life here in Varanasi. It gets quite busy during the afternoons when people are commuting or heading towards the main parts of the city. We keep things pretty simple in the kitchen. There isn't any fancy decor or anything like that because we prefer to focus on the cooking. The tables are basic and we try to keep the place tidy for whoever walks in. Sometimes the traffic at the crossing gets backed up and people just pop in to wait it out with a meal. We see a lot of local faces from around the neighborhood and some travelers too who are just passing through the 221008 area. It's a family-run sort of deal, so you might see the same few people working every single day. We don't have a big staff. Dealing with the heat in the summers is a bit tough but we manage. People seem to like the atmosphere because it's quiet enough away from the very center of Varanasi. We just do our work and go home. There is nothing complicated about how we run things. Just a local spot for local people.
