Pakwaan the real desi taste ka tadka

Being on Luxa Road in Varanasi is something else. It’s right near Godowlia and PDR Mall. If you’ve been to Varanasi, you know how crowded and loud these streets are. There are cycle rickshaws, cows, and tourists everywhere. Our place is right in the middle of all that noise. We call it "the real desi taste ka tadka" but mostly it’s just a place where we try to serve food that tastes like home. The building is old, and the street outside is always under some kind of repair. We spend a lot of time cleaning up the dust that blows in from the road. It’s a small space, and it gets cramped when the mall crowd comes over. The staff is used to the chaos. We don’t have a lot of rules, we just try to get the food out to the tables as fast as we can. Sometimes the electricity goes off and we have to switch to the generator. That’s just life in Godowlia. We see people from all over the world here, not just locals. They come in looking for a break from the sun. We don't do anything special for them, they just get what everyone else gets. It’s a busy, sweaty, loud place, but it’s ours. We’ve been here on Luxa Road for a while and we don’t plan on moving anywhere else.
