Nirmala Restaurant

Our restaurant is tucked away inside Ganga Fuji Home, which is located at D-7/21 in Sakarkand Gali. It’s right near the Dasashwmedh Road area in Varanasi. Being so close to Meer Ghat and Dasashwmedh Ghat means there are always people walking by, mostly pilgrims and travelers heading down to the water. The alleys here are narrow and can be a bit of a maze if you aren't used to Sakarkand Gali. We are part of the guest house setup, so it’s a mix of people staying upstairs and folks just coming in from the street. The 221001 area is the heart of the old city. It stays noisy and vibrant pretty much all the time. We don't have a big front entrance on the main road, so you have to walk into the lane to find us. The kitchen is small but we manage to get everything done. It’s a family-run kind of feeling here. We don't have a big corporate team; it’s just us making sure the guests are fed. We focus on what we know how to cook. The humidity in Varanasi can be tough in the summer, but the stone walls of the old building help a bit. We’ve been at this location for years, and not much has changed in how we do things. It’s a simple spot to sit down and eat while you’re exploring the ghats. It is just a practical place for those passing through the busy lanes.
