Chatpat Restaurant

Chatpat Restaurant is located at Shop No-37/4 on Chowk Road in Godowlia. We are right near Spice Kcm, which is a busy landmark here in Varanasi. If you’ve ever walked through Godowlia, you know how crowded and hectic it gets with all the rickshaws and people heading toward the temples. Our shop is right in the middle of all that action. It’s a small place, and it can get quite hot in the summer, but we have a few fans going to keep the air moving. We’ve been here for several years, and we’ve seen the street change quite a bit. My father started this place, and now we all help out to keep it going. We don’t have a big menu with hundreds of items. We just stick to what we know how to make well. The morning starts very early for us, getting the spices ground and the dough ready. It’s a lot of manual labor, but that’s how we’ve always done it. We don't have a fancy sign or bright lights, just a simple board with our name on it. Most people who come in are locals who have been eating here since they were kids. We also get the occasional tourist who gets lost in the lanes and finds their way to our door. It’s a very basic setup, just a kitchen and some seating, but it works for us. We just focus on the daily grind.
