Frys Village Restaurant

Frys Village Restaurant is located right on Chittor Road in Ernakulam North. If you know where the My Moon Theatre is, we are pretty much right there, which means we get a lot of people coming in after a movie gets out. Ernakulam is always so crowded and the traffic outside on the road can be a real headache sometimes, but inside it stays fairly calm. We went with the village name because the food is more like what you’d get at home, nothing too over-the-top or complicated. We spend a lot of time in the back prepping everything ourselves because that’s just how we’ve always done it. The building isn't brand new or anything, it has its quirks, but it serves its purpose for the folks around here. We see a lot of regular faces from the neighborhood and some travelers who are just passing through toward the north side. The humidity in Kerala makes the kitchen quite warm, so we’re usually glad when the evening breeze starts to pick up. We don't have a big corporate team or anything like that, it’s just a few of us making sure the plates are full and the floor is clean. It gets noisy when the theater lets out, but we like the energy. It’s just a simple place to eat without any fuss, right here on the main stretch of Chittor Road.
