Arca Nova Restaurant

We are tucked away in Kochi Fort, specifically at the Fort House Hotel on Calvathy Road. If you haven't been down this way, it’s a bit different from the rest of Ernakulam. The roads are narrower and you can feel the sea breeze if you’re sitting in the right spot. We’ve been here on Calvathy Road for a while, and the vibe is pretty relaxed. Most days involve watching the boats go by or dealing with the humidity that comes with being this close to the water. The restaurant is part of the hotel, so we get a mix of travelers and people who live locally in the Fort Kochi area. It’s a nice place to sit when the sun starts to go down and the air cools off a little. We don’t really go for anything too fancy. The floor is usually busy with people talking, and you can hear the sounds from the street filtering in. Getting here isn't too bad once you navigate the old streets. People usually find us after walking around the historic parts of the fort. We keep the place open and ready, whether it’s a quiet Tuesday or a busy weekend. The staff knows the regulars by name, and we just try to get the orders out as they come in. It’s a decent life here by the coast, even when the monsoon rains make everything a bit damp for a few weeks.
