Arabian Mandhi House

We’ve been here at Arabian Mandhi House for a while now. You can find us right on the NH 47 Aluva Ernakulam Road. It's easy to spot if you’re near Milma in Edapally. The shop isn't fancy, just some tables and chairs where people come to eat. Mostly it's people passing through on the highway or locals from Koonamthai who don't want to cook at home. We serve mandhi, obviously. We start early getting the rice and meat ready. Some days it gets really busy around lunchtime and we might run out of space, but that’s just how it goes. My cousin helps out with the serving. We try to keep things clean but it's a working kitchen. The traffic outside is always noisy but inside it's alright. Sometimes the rice takes a bit longer if we have a big crowd. We just focus on getting the food out to the tables. It's not a big team, just a few of us making sure the pots are full. People know where we are because of the sign near the road. We don't do much advertising or anything like that. If you're driving towards Ernakulam, we are on the left side. It’s a simple spot for a meal when you’re hungry. Nothing too complicated about it. We just open up, cook, and close when the food is done for the day.
