Arabian Dreams

Arabian Dreams is located right on Civil Line Road in the Vazhakkala area of Kakkanad. We are situated right by the Colony Bus Stop, which means there is always a lot of movement outside our windows. If you look across the street, you will see the Reliance Fresh Supermarket, so we are in a pretty busy part of Ernakulam. Most days, we are just focused on getting the meat onto the spits and making sure the salads are fresh. It gets pretty humid here in Kerala, and the kitchen can get quite warm, but we are used to it by now. We started this place because we wanted to bring these specific flavors to this side of town. It is not a very big shop, but we make the most of the space we have. You will often see people waiting for their buses or finishing their grocery shopping and then popping in here for a quick shawarma or some rice. We don't really have any polished speeches about what we do. We just turn up, open the shutters, and start cooking. Sometimes the power goes out or the rain is so heavy that nobody wants to step outside, but we stay open regardless. It is just a small part of the daily life here in Kakkanad, and we are happy to be a part of it. We keep things real and don't try to act bigger than we are.
