Cherry Buds

Cherry Buds is located at House Number 34/512 on Mosque Road in Edapally. It is a very residential part of Ernakulam, so the school is basically situated in a converted house. This gives it a much more domestic feel than a big commercial building. Mosque Road can be a bit narrow, so parking is always a bit of a challenge during the drop-off and pick-up times. Inside, we have used the different rooms of the house for various activities. One room might be for quiet time and stories, while another is filled with blocks and toys for more active play. We have a small outdoor area, but since we are in Kochi, the rain often keeps the kids inside for parts of the year. You can hear the sounds of the neighborhood all day, from the local traffic to the nearby mosque. It is a small operation, run by people who live nearby and know the community well. We do not have a huge staff or a complicated management structure. It is just a few of us making sure the kids are looked after while their parents are at work. The kitchen is usually busy around lunchtime with small tiffin boxes being opened. It is a simple, local place that has become a part of the everyday life for families in this corner of Edapally. We just take things one day at a time here and keep things moving.
