Chemmeen The Village Restaurant

We are tucked away behind Dhanalakshmi Bank in Palarivattom. It’s a bit of a quiet corner compared to the main road, but that is what we like about it. Being in Ernakulam, things can get very fast, so having Chemmeen The Village Restaurant in this specific spot feels a bit different. We started this because we wanted a place that felt more like the villages we grew up in. The kitchen is always humming with activity from early morning. It isn't a very large space, so we have to stay organized to make sure everything fits. You might have to look twice to find the entrance since we are behind the bank, but once you know where it is, it’s easy. We don't have a lot of fancy decorations or a big marketing team. It’s mostly just us and a few helpers making sure the floor is swept and the tables are clean. Sometimes the rain in Kerala makes things a bit messy outside, but we just deal with it. We spend our time focusing on the cooking and making sure the supplies are fresh. It’s hard work, but it’s what we know how to do. Most of our customers are people working in the nearby offices who just want a decent meal without any fuss. We just keep doing what we do every day. It's been a few years now and we've gotten to know the neighborhood well.
