Biriyani Hut

The Biriyani Hut has been over at the Vaishaka Tourist Home Building on Civil Lane Road for quite a while now. It sits right near Hotel Abhirami in Kakkanad West, which makes it pretty easy for people to find us when they are out that way. We just open up every day and get the pots going early in the morning before the sun gets too high. It usually gets pretty busy around lunchtime when the office crowd from around Vazhalkala starts showing up for their break. Sometimes the weather makes things a bit slow, especially when it rains hard, but usually, there is a steady stream of folks coming through the door. We don't have any fancy decorations or soft lighting. It is just some basic tables and chairs where you can sit down and have a meal. The building itself is an older one, which some people seem to like, though others probably don't even notice. We try to keep everything clean, but it is a working kitchen and a busy spot in Ernakulam. Our staff has been here for years, and they know many of the regulars who come in every week. You will see them moving fast with plates of food, trying to make sure everyone is fed before they have to get back to their jobs. We are just a local spot tucked away here. If you are driving on Civil Lane Road, you cannot really miss our sign. We are just trying to keep the food ready for whoever walks in.
