St Xaviers School

St Xaviers School is located at 2nd Mile in Siliguri, right on the busy Sevok Road. If you are heading towards Jyoti Nagar, you will see our gate just off the main path. The location is quite convenient for families living in this part of Siliguri, though the traffic out front can be a bit much during the morning rush. Our school grounds have a few trees that provide some shade during the hotter months, and there is a small area where the kids play when it is not raining. Since we are in North Bengal, we deal with a lot of rain, so the hallways often have the smell of damp umbrellas and wet shoes. The classrooms are basic with long wooden benches and green chalkboards that we have to wipe down every day. In the main office, we have an old desk where the principal sits and handles all the admissions and paperwork. We do not have any slick receptionists or fancy lobby furniture. It is just a school where the staff knows most of the parents by name because they see them every day at the gate. We keep a regular schedule and try to stay on top of the curriculum, even when the Siliguri weather makes everyone feel a bit sluggish. It is a local place for local kids, and we just focus on our work day in and day out.
