About Bagdogra Sister Nivedita English School – Education in Darjeeling
Bagdogra Sister Nivedita English School is right there on NH31 in Bagdogra. If you've ever driven through Siliguri, you’ve probably passed by this stretch. It is a busy road, so there is always the sound of trucks and cars going by outside the gates. The school itself is pretty simple. We have the usual classrooms, some old wooden desks, and blackboards that have seen better days. It isn’t a fancy place with glass walls or anything like that. It’s just where the local kids come to study. In the mornings, you see the parents dropping them off on scooters or they walk from the nearby houses. When it rains, which happens a lot here, the playground gets a bit muddy and we have to keep everyone inside. The teachers are mostly people from around the neighborhood or who commute from the main part of Siliguri. We don't have a big marketing team or anything, just a few staff members who keep the place running. The fans hum in the summer heat and we try to keep things organized. It’s a lot of work keeping a school going in this part of town. Sometimes the power goes out and we just open the windows for some air. It is just a regular school doing its job every day. No big speeches or grand promises here, just people teaching and kids learning their lessons before they head home in the afternoon.
