St Xaveir High School

Our school is located on Badyar Road in Belma Village, which is part of the Derlakatte area. It’s a bit of a drive out of Mangalore city, near where all the big hospitals and medical colleges are. However, we are more on the village side of things. The school feels very connected to the local families in Belma. We see the same faces every day, and we know most of the parents by name. The building is practical and doesn't have any unnecessary decorations. We have a high school section where the students spend most of their day in the classrooms or the small lab we have. It’s a quiet place for the most part, except for when the kids are out on the road heading home. We don't have a lot of big events, just the basic ones that the government requires. The teachers are hardworking and often stay late to finish their marking. We don't use a lot of fancy language to talk about what we do. It’s just a school in a village setting where we try to provide a place for kids to study. The weather in Derlakatte can be quite humid, so we try to keep the windows open for the breeze. It's a humble spot that has been serving the local community for a long time. Our main job is making sure the day-to-day lessons are done properly and on time for every student.
