St Venus School

St Venus School is situated in Jeppina Mogaru, which is a bit of a quieter residential part of Mangalore. The area is sometimes spelled Jeepina Mogaru on old maps, but it’s all the same place to us. We’ve been part of this neighborhood for a long time now. The school is a simple structure, and we have a small patch of ground where the kids can play during their break time. It’s the kind of place where the teachers often know the parents by name because everyone lives nearby. We don't have the big buses that some of the city schools have; most kids just get dropped off by their families or walk. The classrooms are basic, with windows that let in the breeze, which is important given our Mangalore weather. We have the usual subjects and follow the standard curriculum for the grades we teach. It’s not a place with high-tech gadgets in every room, but we have what we need to teach the children. Things are pretty relaxed here, though we do stick to the schedule. You’ll hear the school bell ringing across the Jeppina Mogaru area a few times a day. We’ve seen many generations of local kids come through these doors. It’s just a neighborhood school trying to do a good job for the local families. We don't make big promises, we just show up every day and teach the kids their lessons.
