About Sri Bhuvanendra Residential School – Education in Dakshina Kannada
We've been here in Karkala for a while now, tucked away in Madhav Nagar. Most people in Udupi know where we are, right near the main spots. It's a residential school, so the kids are basically living here day and night. It gets pretty loud during the day when everyone is out on the grounds, but that’s just how it is with a bunch of students. We have these old buildings and some newer parts too. The weather in Karkala can be a bit much sometimes, especially the rain, but we manage. You’ll see the staff walking around, trying to keep things organized. It's not always perfect, sometimes the power goes out or things get a bit messy in the dining hall, but it’s a school, not a hotel. We just try to get through the lessons and make sure everyone gets fed. Parents come by on the weekends to see their kids, and the gate gets pretty busy then. It’s a lot of work running a place like this in Udupi, but we’ve been at it for years. The teachers live nearby or stay on campus too. We don't have fancy carpets or anything, just plain classrooms and a lot of books. It’s a basic life here, focusing on the classes and the exams. Most of us have been here so long we don’t even think about the commute anymore. It’s just home for us and the kids.
