T Nagar is always moving, and we are right in the middle of it at Coramandel Designers. You can find us on Nathamuni Street, which is quite close to the Murugan Idli Shop. If you’ve eaten there, you know how busy this side of Chennai gets. We’ve been at this old-new address, Old No 3/3 New No 9, for a good stretch of time. Our daily routine is mostly looking at drawings and talking to people about their homes. We don't have a big corporate team, just some regular people who know how to put a room together. Sometimes we are out buying materials in the local markets, and other times we are sitting here with a cup of tea trying to figure out a tricky layout. It’s a bit noisy outside with all the shoppers, but inside we just focus on the design work. We don't use big words or make huge promises we can't keep. We just show up, do the measurements, and try to make things look decent. A lot of our clients are people who have lived in T Nagar for decades. They want something practical that doesn't cost a fortune. We understand that because we live and work here too. It’s a small office but it’s got everything we need to get the job done right. We just take it one day at a time here near the idli shop.
