Invent Architects

We are based in Adyar, at No 16/37 on 5th Main Road in the Kasturibai Nagar section. It’s a pretty easy spot to find if you know where Nalli Silks is, as we are just near there. Adyar is a busy place with a lot of people moving around, and our street is no different. The office itself is quite functional, with plenty of light coming in during the morning. We have our work areas set up with all the tools we need—mostly computers, large-scale printers, and cabinets full of old project files. It isn’t the kind of place you’d see in a magazine; it’s a working office where people are actually doing things. There are always piles of paper that need filing and half-finished drawings sitting around. We spend a lot of time talking about measurements and how to fit things into tight spaces. The sound of the traffic from the main road is always there, but you get used to it after a while. Most days involve a lot of sitting and focusing, broken up by trips to the local tea stalls. We don’t have any grand decorations on the walls, just some maps and maybe a calendar that’s a month behind. It’s a practical space for practical work. Being near the shops means there's always something happening outside, but inside we just try to keep our heads down and get the drawings finished on time.
