B&W Architectural Design Studio

B&W Architectural Design Studio is located over on Gandhi Road in Velachery. We are right near the Central Bank of India, which makes it easy for people to find the building. Chennai weather can be pretty intense, but our office stays cool enough for us to focus on the drafting boards and computers. We deal with blueprints and floor plans mostly. It’s not as glamorous as people think. There is a lot of measuring, re-measuring, and making sure we follow all the local building rules. Sometimes a design doesn't work out the way it was first imagined, so we have to sit down and figure out a new way to make the walls fit. We’ve been in Velacheri for a while and have seen the neighborhood change quite a bit with more traffic and new shops popping up everywhere. Our team is small. We don't have a receptionist or a fancy waiting room. You just walk in and we're usually right there working on something. We use a lot of paper and pencils still, even with all the new software available. It’s just how we learned to do things. The coffee shop down the street is where we usually end up when we need a break from the drawings. It's a regular local business life for us here, just trying to get the lines straight and the plans approved so people can start building their dreams.
