Kalai Vrikshya Architects

Our office is located on the first floor of A A 151, right there on 3rd Avenue in Anna Nagar. If you know the Anna Nagar Roundtana or the Viveks store, you’ve probably passed by our building many times without even noticing we are here. We are Kalai Vrikshya Architects, and our space is usually filled with rolls of drawings, dusty scales, and half-empty coffee cups. It isn't a very quiet place because there’s always someone talking about a blueprint or checking some dimensions on a laptop screen. Being in this part of Chennai means we see a lot of the same faces every day. We started doing this because we like the process of building things that actually work for people. We aren't about those flashy magazines or high-end brochures. We just sit here and try to figure out how to make a house or a shop look right and stay strong. Sometimes we stay late when a project is at a tricky stage, but mostly we try to stick to regular hours. The stairs up to the first floor are a bit narrow, but once you’re inside, it’s just us working away. We don't use a lot of big words or fancy talk when explaining things. It’s just about drawings and making sure the contractor understands what needs to happen on the site. We’ve been around this Anna Nagar area for a bit, and we like the neighborhood. The parking can be tough near Viveks, so we usually walk to get our lunch.
