We have been here at No 5, Police Mannickam Street for a while now. Ayanavaram is a busy place but our little corner in SBI Colony is alright. People know us around here. It started with just a few of us trying to handle things and it grew. We spend most of our mornings dealing with whatever comes through the door. Sometimes it is quiet, other times everyone wants something at once. That is just how it goes in a place like Chennai. The traffic outside can get a bit much during peak hours but we are used to it by now. We don't really do the fancy office thing. It is just desks, some chairs, and plenty of coffee to keep us moving. Most of the people who come to see us are from the neighborhood or nearby areas. We know most of the faces. It is not about being the biggest or anything like that. We just want to get the work done right so people come back next time. Sometimes we make mistakes, maybe a typo here or there, but we fix it fast. Life in Ayanavaram moves at its own pace and we just try to keep up. We have seen the street change over the years. New shops open and others close down but we are still here doing our bit. It is not always easy, but it is what we know. Ayanavaram is home to us, and we plan on staying here for as long as we can. Every morning when we open up, we just hope for a productive day.
