Vishwa Book House

Vishwa Book House is sitting at 589 Avenue Road. It’s a straightforward location on a very long and busy street. We have been here for quite some time now. The shop is full of books from the front door all the way to the back wall. We have shelves that are probably too high, but we need the space. You can find almost anything if you look long enough. We spend most of our time helping people find what they need or unpacking new crates that arrive on the trucks. Avenue Road is never quiet, so there’s a constant hum of engines and voices coming in from the sidewalk. We have a few fans to keep the air moving, but it still gets warm when the shop is full. We don’t have a polished look or a big team of people. It’s just a couple of us who know where everything is kept. We keep a notebook for the things we need to order. It’s not a high-tech operation. We just like books and we like being in this part of town. Every day is a bit different depending on who walks in. Sometimes it’s a quiet morning and then suddenly it gets very crowded. We just take it as it comes. The floor is concrete and the shelves are a bit worn, but the books are what matter.
