Avenue Book Centre

You can find us right at 44 Char Rasta in Bangalore City. It's a busy corner and there is always something going on outside our doors. We’ve been running this book centre for quite some time now. It’s a bit of a packed space because we try to fit as many books as possible on the shelves. Sometimes they end up on the floor too. If you’ve walked around this part of the city, you probably passed by us without even realizing it. We aren't big on flashy signs or modern decor. It’s just wooden shelves and the smell of old paper. We open up in the morning and stay until the evening traffic starts getting heavy. Most of our regulars live nearby or work in the shops around Char Rasta. It’s a loud area but inside it feels a bit different. We try to keep track of what we have but with so many stacks, it’s a bit of a challenge. If you are looking for something to read, you can just come in and browse. We don't hover over people. Take your time. We know where most things are, but half the fun is just looking through the piles yourself. It’s a simple setup. No fancy systems, just us and the books. We like it that way. It feels like a real part of the neighborhood.
