Vijaya Lakshmi Book Centre

Vijaya Lakshmi Book Centre is located at 68/69 Formudi Mission, right near the Administrative Office on Avenue Road. If you know this part of town, you know how busy it gets. We spend most of our mornings just moving boxes around to make space for people to walk. It is not a very big place, but we have managed to cram a lot of books onto the shelves over the years. Some of the stacks go all the way to the ceiling. It can be a bit dusty sometimes, but that is just how it is with so much paper in one room. We usually open up early before the traffic on Avenue Road gets too crazy. Most of the people who come in are looking for something specific for their classes or just something to read on the bus. We don't have any fancy displays or anything like that. It is just a regular shop where we keep track of things in our heads. Sometimes we might take a minute to find what you need because things get buried under newer arrivals. We have been here at this spot for quite a while now. It’s just us working here, making sure the shelves don't stay empty for too long. If you pass by the Administrative Office, you will see our sign. We just keep things simple and try to get through the daily chores of running a small bookstore.
