Vasan Book Distributors

Vasan Book Distributors is located at 71 Sri Kalyan Building on Avenue Road. This is right in the heart of the city's book trade district. If you look around, every other building is doing something related to books or printing. Our space in the Sri Kalyan Building is mostly used for storing large quantities of books before they go out to shops across the state. It is a very busy environment. There are always boxes being loaded onto trucks or unloaded in the middle of the street. Avenue Road is famous for its traffic, and we are right in the thick of it. Inside, the stacks of books go all the way up to the ceiling. We have to use ladders to reach some of the older stock. It is a bit of a maze, and only the guys who have worked here for years really know where everything is. We don't have a showroom for individuals to come and browse through titles one by one. It is more of a wholesale operation. We use old fans to keep the air moving, and the floor is made of rough concrete. We have been doing this for a long time, so we know the cycles of the school year and when demand will peak. It is hard work, lifting heavy cartons all day, but it is what we know. We don't do anything flashy, we just distribute books to whoever needs them.
