Suraj Book Manufacture

Our workshop is at number 24, right across from the Lakshmi Narayana Floor in ML Sultanpet. Sultanpet is a very busy market area, and the streets are always full of people carrying bundles of paper and books. We do the actual manufacturing here, so there is the constant sound of machines and cutting tools. It’s a noisy place, and the air is often full of paper dust. We’ve been in this spot for quite some time, and the building shows its age a bit. We have big tables where we bind the books and stack them up for the wholesalers. It's hard work, and our hands are usually covered in glue or ink by the end of the day. The space is filled with the smell of binding materials. We don't have a fancy office; we just have the floor where the books get made. Sometimes it’s a bit chaotic when a big order is due and we are running low on supplies. We just manage as best we can. The tea shop nearby is where we spend our short breaks before getting back to the machines. It’s a gritty, honest kind of work. We aren't selling dreams, just making the physical books that people use. It’s what we know how to do, and we do it every day in this corner of Sultanpet. The noise of the market outside never really stops until very late at night.
