Sridhar Book Shop

Sridhar Book Shop is located at 40 Ashok Nagar, which is a pretty quiet spot compared to the main commercial areas. I’ve lived in this area most of my life, so setting up the shop here felt natural. It’s just a small room filled with shelves from floor to ceiling. I mostly stock what the local people ask for, like school supplies, some notebooks, and the usual novels. The shop doesn’t have a big glass front or fancy lights; it’s just a regular door that I roll up every morning around nine. Ashok Nagar has changed a lot over the years, but number 40 has stayed pretty much the same. I have a small bench outside where some of the older neighbors sit and talk while I’m working inside. It gets a bit dark in the back of the shop, so I usually keep a flashlight handy to find things on the bottom shelves. I handle everything myself, from the cleaning to the accounts, so if the shop is closed, it usually means I’ve gone to the wholesaler or I’m taking a short nap in the back room. It’s a very simple way to run a business, but it suits me fine. I don't really do any advertising; people just see the sign when they are walking to the park or coming back from work. It’s a steady life here in the neighborhood.
