Sri Basaveswara Stationery

If you go down to 277/A Infantry Road in Kengeri, that is where you will find Sri Basaveswara Stationery. I’ve been running the shop here for some time now. Kengeri has changed a lot with the new buildings, but our little corner stays pretty much the same. We carry a bit of everything when it comes to school and office supplies. You’ll find rows of notebooks, pens of all colors, and those art supplies that kids always seem to need at the last minute for school projects on Sundays. The shop isn't very wide, so we use all the wall space right up to the ceiling. I usually have to use a wooden ladder to reach some of the items kept on the top shelves. It’s a local business through and through. We know the parents and the teachers from the nearby schools quite well. People stop by on their way home to pick up a newspaper or a quick packet of staples. I try to keep the prices fair because I know everyone in the neighborhood. It’s just me and sometimes my nephew helping out when it gets busy in the afternoons. We don't have a website or anything like that, we just open the shutters in the morning and wait for people to come in. It's honest work and it keeps me busy. Sometimes we run out of things, but I usually get them back in stock by the next week if the supplier comes on time. It is a simple life here.
