Sri Akshaya Books & Fancys

If you walk down Venugopal Swamy Temple Street in Murugeshpalya, you will find us at 70/3. It’s on the 2nd Cross near the Hal Post area, not too far from the Airport Road. We called the shop Sri Akshaya Books & Fancys because we sell a bit of everything, not just books. We have the usual school supplies but also those little fancy items like hair clips, bangles, and small gifts that kids like. The street gets quite busy especially when there’s a festival at the temple nearby. Our shop isn't very big so things are tucked into every corner. It can be a little hard to navigate if more than three people come in at once. We spend a lot of time sorting through the "fancy" stock because those small items always seem to get mixed up. It is a bit noisy with the traffic from the main road nearby but we are used to it by now. The locals know us as the place to grab a quick greeting card or a last-minute notebook. We open up early and stay open until the street gets quiet at night. There’s no big team here, just us managing the counter and making sure we don’t run out of the basics. It’s a practical kind of shop for a practical neighborhood. Nothing fancy about the way we work, even if the sign says fancys. We are just here doing our thing.
