Sree Venkateshwara Book Stores

You can find us at 94 on Jakkur Main Road in Srirampuram. We’re right near the Ganesh Temple, so we get a lot of people passing by on their way to pray. Sree Venkateshwara Book Stores has been a part of this street for quite some time. The shop is a bit cramped because we try to fit in every book we can. The shelves are high and sometimes you need a stool to reach the top ones. Srirampuram is a lively neighborhood, and Jakkur Main Road always has something going on. We see a lot of students and older folks from the area. The temple bells are a nice sound to work to. We don’t have any fancy computer systems for our inventory; we mostly just remember where things are kept. It’s a bit old-fashioned, but it works for us. We keep the front of the store open so the breeze can come in, though it brings in some dust too. It’s a humble place. We aren't trying to be the biggest store in the city. We just want to be the one people in Srirampuram think of when they need something to read. Sometimes we chat with the neighbors for longer than we should, but that’s what makes the day go by faster. We're just here doing our bit for the local folks.
