Southern Book Sellers

We are located at 524 on the first floor of a building in the 7th Block of J P Nagar. Being right on Mysore Road means there is always a lot of noise from the buses and cars passing by outside. Most people find us by looking for the sign above the small staircase that leads up to our floor. It isn’t a very big space, but we have crammed as many books as possible into the wooden shelves that line the walls. Some of the stacks are actually sitting on the floor because we ran out of room a long time ago. It can get a bit dusty in here, especially in the summer when we keep the windows open to let a breeze in. We usually spend the morning unpacking boxes or sorting through things that people have brought in. J P Nagar has changed a lot since we first set up here, with more shops and buildings going up every year. People from the local neighborhood come in quite often, looking for something specific or just wanting to see what is new on the shelf. We don't have any fancy displays or anything like that. It is just a plain room full of books and a couple of chairs where you can sit for a minute if your legs are tired. Most days it’s just the two of us working here, making sure everything is in some kind of order even if it looks a bit messy to everyone else.
