About Shivaganaa Book House – Books & Knowledge in Bengaluru
We’ve been here at 436 Site No1 in Babusapalaya for quite some time now. Vijaya Nagar is a busy place, and Shivaganaa Book House is just a small part of it. Most days start with opening the shutters and dusting off the stacks. It’s a lot of work because the books get dusty quickly. People come in looking for all sorts of things, mostly school books or some local stories. I try to keep things organized but sometimes the piles get a bit high on the floor. It isn’t a fancy place with bright lights or anything. Just a regular shop where you can find something to read. Sometimes neighbors stop by just to chat about the weather or the traffic on the main road. The shelves are made of old wood and they groan a little under the weight of the hardcovers. I remember when we first moved into this spot, it seemed too big, but now we barely have space to move around. If you walk past the big tree near the corner, you’ll see our sign. It’s a bit faded but it still does the job. We don’t have a computer system to track everything, so I usually just remember where things are. It’s a simple way of doing things but it works for us. The afternoon sun hits the front window directly, so I usually have to pull the shade halfway down. That’s when it gets a little quieter in here before the evening rush.
