Shiva Book Manufactures

At Shiva Book Manufactures, located at 50 Basaveshwara Nagar, we do things a bit differently than a regular bookstore. We are actually involved in making the books and notebooks that people use. The sound of the cutting machines and the smell of fresh glue are part of our every day. Our space is more like a workshop than a shop. We have heavy stacks of white paper piled up against the walls and large rolls of binding material in the corner. People from the area know us for being reliable when they need a batch of registers or school notebooks made. It is a dusty job, and our hands are often stained with ink or bits of paper scrap. We have been in Basaveshwara Nagar for a long time, and the building itself is quite old. The floor is concrete and a bit uneven, but it holds the weight of our equipment just fine. My family and a few local workers handle the production. We don't have a showroom, so customers usually just walk right into the middle of the work area to talk to us about what they need. It is loud and busy, especially during the months before the new school year starts. We work long hours during the peak season to make sure everything gets finished on time. It is honest work, and we take pride in seeing the finished books go out the door.
