Sankars The Book People Pvt Ltd

Our place is at 394 1st B Road in the Domlur Layout area. Most people just call it Sankars The Book People. It is a bit of a walk from the main road, which is nice because it is a lot quieter than the rest of Domlur. We have a decent-sized space here but it still feels small because of how many books we try to keep in stock. The shelves go pretty high and we have a ladder that we have to move around constantly. It’s an old wooden ladder that squeaks a lot. The air inside always smells like old paper and ink, which is something you get used to after working here for a week. We spend a lot of time on the phone talking to suppliers or trying to track down something someone asked for. It isn't a very modern setup. We have a desk near the front where we keep our records and a small computer that is quite slow. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon and we just open the door wider to let in some light. The staff here has been around for years, so we all know where everything is, even if it looks like a mess to someone else. We don't really do much in the way of decorating. We just let the books speak for themselves and try to keep things moving as best as we can every single day.
