S R S Book Centre

We are located at 89/2 in the Sree Complex on Avenue Road. If you are walking down the street, you can find us right next to the Rice Memorial Church. Anyone who knows this part of town knows how crowded and hectic Avenue Road can be. It is full of people, carts, and books everywhere you look. Our shop is inside the complex, which gives us a little bit of a break from the direct chaos of the main street, but it is still very busy. We have books piled up in every corner of the room. Sometimes the piles get so high that you have to be careful not to knock them over when you are walking through the narrow aisles. We deal with a lot of different kinds of books, mostly older ones or things for students. The air in here always smells like old paper and a bit of dust. Because we are in such an old building, the floors are a bit uneven and the walls show their age. We don't spend much on decorating the place because there simply isn't any room for it. Every inch of space is used for storing more stock. We stay open late most days because there are always people wandering around Avenue Road looking for something to read. It’s a loud, messy, and energetic place to work, but we have gotten used to the noise of the church bells and the shouting of the street vendors outside.
