S M S Book House

S M S Book House is located at No 16 on the Sarovariya Hanumanaji Road. We are right by the bus stop road in Girinagar, so there is always a lot of noise from the engines and people running to catch their ride. It's a small shop, but we try to cram in as many books as possible onto the shelves. Most people who come in are just passing through on their way home. They want something to read on the bus or maybe a notebook for their kids. The walls are covered in stacks of paper and the smell of old ink is everywhere. I usually sit behind the counter near the door so I can see everyone coming in. It gets quite hot in the summers, but we have a small fan that wobbles a bit. We don't have any fancy displays or neon signs. Just a board outside that says the name. Sometimes the delivery guys leave boxes right in the middle of the floor, and I have to step over them all day. It’s a bit messy, I know. But if you are looking for a specific textbook or a local magazine, we usually have it hidden somewhere in a pile. The neighborhood kids usually stop by around four in the afternoon when they get off the school bus. It gets a bit chaotic for half an hour but then it settles down again. That's just how the day goes here.
