Pushpa Book House

Pushpa Book House is located on Buddha Vihar Road in Frazer Town. We’ve been at number 35 for quite some time now. It’s a quiet enough street compared to the main roads nearby. The shop is basically just one big room full of wooden racks and stacks of paper. We started out small and stayed that way. Most people who live around Frazer Town know where we are. They come in for notebooks or maybe something to read in the evenings. We don't really do anything fancy here. I spend most of my day just moving books from the back to the front. Sometimes the deliveries arrive late and we have to stay a bit longer to sort them out. It’s not a big corporate operation. It’s just us. The floors are a bit creaky and the lights flickers sometimes if the rain is heavy. We have a lot of regular customers who have been coming since they were kids. Now they bring their own children in. It feels good to see the same faces over the years. We keep the shop open until late most nights. If the weather is nice, we leave the door open to catch the breeze. There’s always a lot of dust because of the old paper but that’s just how bookshops are. We don't try to be anything we aren't. Just a place to get books.
