We’ve been located at 27 Main Road in Cottonpet for as long as I can remember. This area is always full of activity, with trucks loading and unloading all day long. Our shop is right on the main stretch, so we get a lot of dust from the road, but we try our best to keep the books clean. It’s a family-run place, mostly. My brother and I are usually here, and sometimes our cousin helps out when we have a big delivery. The building is quite old, and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but it’s sturdy. We have stacks of books in every corner. Sometimes it feels like the books are taking over the shop. We don’t really have a system for where everything goes, but we usually know where to look when someone asks for something specific. Most of our regulars are local residents or people who work in the nearby markets. They stop by to see what’s new or just to have a quick chat about the news. We don’t do any big promotions or anything like that. We just open the shutters in the morning and wait to see who comes in. It’s a simple way to earn a living. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot over the decades, but our little corner remains pretty much the same. We hope to keep the doors open for many more years to come.
