Down here at 41396 GIDC Turning Point on Avenue Road, it’s always loud because of the machinery. We aren't really a shop where you come to sit and read. We make the books here. There’s always the smell of glue and fresh paper hanging in the air, which you get used to after a few days. The floor is usually covered in paper scraps that we have to sweep up every evening. It’s a busy operation with people moving boxes in and out all the time. The Avenue Road area is already crowded, so getting deliveries in and out through the GIDC Turning Point is a bit of a struggle sometimes. We’ve got these old binding machines that make a lot of noise, but they still work better than the newer ones we tried once. My brother and I run the place with a couple of guys who have been with us since the start. We don't have a front desk or anything fancy, just a small table where we keep the ledger and a telephone that rings way too often. It’s hard work, and your hands usually end up stained with ink by the end of the shift. We don’t really think much about being manufacturers, we just focus on getting the orders finished so they can get shipped out to the stores. It’s a messy business, but it’s our business. We’ve been at it for a long time and we know how to get things done right.
